Total Disability

A disabling accident could happen at any time, any where. Nothing can be more frustrating than not being able to perform as an educator. That is why AFSA provides at no additional cost up to $1,500 a month is disability benefits to all of its members. The maximum lifetime benefit is $15,000 per member. Disability benefits begin the fifth month after the onset of the disability. Benefits will continue as long as the member remains totally disabled or until the age of 65 or until the maximum benefit payable has been reached, whichever comes first. This benefit is offset by the monthly amounts payable from other sources.
