Professional Liability

As an educational leader, students, parents, teachers and the community look to you for guidance. Unfortunately, being in a position of leadership also means that you are the first to be held accountable if something goes wrong. That is why AFSA offers its member at no charge up to $25,000 of professional liability insurance. This special coverage is designed to cover the costs that are associated with denial of constitutional rights, "failure to educate," and criminal charges arising out of school activities where there is complete exoneration. The coverage will also cover up to $25,000 of the defense costs, regardless of outcome, for criminal proceedings resulting from corporal punishment. This benefit also covers up to $5,000 of punitive damages.
